Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the plant building and equipment to ensure that all equipment is in working order. The ability to recognize and diagnose problems and issues with equipment is essential. A qualified candidate must also possess an understanding of electricity and hydraulics. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our building and all mechanical equipment operate at peak efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Manage and lead a team of 2-3 maintenance technicians responsible for tractor trailer maintenance, equipment maintenance, and building upkeep.
• Diagnose, analyze, and repair mechanical faults in various types of machinery and equipment including conveyors, hydraulic cylinders, forklifts, balers, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance to avoid equipment failures and minimize downtime.
• Conduct electrical wiring installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Engage in welding and metal fabrication tasks as needed.
• Oversee the maintenance of the plant's outdoor area and ensure all operations comply with environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and generate reports on equipment status and team performance.
• Wiring and electric repairs up to 480V.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, stand and climb.
• Troubleshoot motor starters, proximity switches and relays.
• Ability to rebuild hydraulic cylinders.
• Adhere to our employee handbook and company safety policies.

• Welding and fabrication (Stick, Mig, Brazing)
• Knowledge of AC/DC electrical current
• Must be able to work flexible hours
• Valid driver's license

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED
• At least 6 years of experience in a maintenance management role in an industrial setting.
• Preferred 2-year certification from technical college/education
• Highly self-motivated and disciplined
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in an open outdoor plant and adapt to varying weather conditions.
• Experience in baler repairs and maintenance of heavy equipment like front-end loaders is highly desirable.
• The individual hired must have experience doing maintenance, repairs and PMs in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Flexible on pay, depending on experience.
