What You'll Do

As our Education Coordinator, you'll be a front-line educator, connector, and advocate. You'll:

  • Lead engaging, hands-on lessons that teach kids and families about nutrition, gardening, and sustainability on our farms, in classrooms, and throughout the community.
  • Build relationships with schools, community partners, and neighbors to expand our reach and deepen our impact.
  • Be a joyful ambassador for Kids' Food Basket, sharing our mission and raising awareness about food insecurity in West Michigan.
  • Keep things running smoothly behind the scenes by scheduling lessons, organizing materials, and documenting progress.
  • Travel across Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Allegan counties to bring education and empowerment to every corner of our community.

What You'll Bring

  • A high school diploma (Associate degree preferred) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • A consistently optimistic outlook and a strengths-based approach to working with people.
  • Comfort speaking in front of groups and leading interactive, inclusive learning experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle calendars, events, and logistics.
  • A foundational understanding or a strong desire to learn about hunger and poverty in West Michigan.
  • A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel regularly.
  • Tech skills (Microsoft Office, CRM systems) and a love for learning new tools.
  • A deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and community collaboration.
