The Clinical Nurse Manager will oversee the nursing staff, coordinate clinical operations, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
Schedule: Full-Time, Weekend Shifts (Fri - Mon 10 hour shifts)
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the Director of nursing to develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and oversee clinical operations, including resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and treatments.
- Conduct regular rounds to assess resident care needs, monitor staff performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance on clinical best practices, resident care techniques, and professional development opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss resident care plans, progress, and any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to optimize resident outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
- Conduct staff evaluations, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
- Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff members.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to nursing practice, resident care, and facility operations.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and resident-centered care amount nursing staff and throughout the facility.
- Handle resident and family concerns or complaints in a timely and compassionate manner, striving to resolve issues and maintain positive relationships.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state where work is performed.
- 1 or more years of experience working as a Nurse Manager or other related field.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and best practices in long-term care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of regulator requirements governing nursing practices and skilled nursing facilities.
- Leadership qualities such as integrity, accountability, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
- Ability to build rapport with patients through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with residents.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, twist.
- Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
- Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of managing a nursing unit and providing leadership to staff members as well as working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
- Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
- Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
- Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
