ABOUT THE JOB:

At Surcheros, we believe that every great meal starts with meticulous preparation. The Meat Prep is responsible for cutting and cooking all of our fresh meats. This is a BOH position. If you are excited to contribute but want to stay behind the scenes this could be the position for you. We're on the lookout for dedicated individuals who enjoy working behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly in the kitchen. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Master the Meat Prep: Prepare and portion food items with precision, ensuring all ingredients are ready for service.
  • Keep It Fresh: Stock, date, rotate, and check temperatures of products to guarantee freshness.
  • Sanitary Standards: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by adhering to state and local sanitation, storage, and refrigeration requirements and codes.
  • Safety First: Handle slicers, knives, and other kitchen utensils and equipment with care to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Stay Flexible: Adapt to the needs of the kitchen, shifting tasks as necessary to keep operations running smoothly.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Repetitive hand and arm movements, grasping, bending, and reaching
  • Responsible for moving or lifting an average of 30-50 pounds
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, cooking equipment, etc.)
  • Safe and proper handling of knives, kitchen utensils, and equipment
  • Maintain a sanitary kitchen by adhering to state and local sanitation, storage, and refrigeration requirements and codes; cleaning equipment
  • Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, carving, and serviing food items which may include meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food products
  • Manage and perform stock counts, date, rotate, and temperature checks of products

When Luke Christian left his rural South Georgia home for college, he never imagined that one day he would come home to open a restaurant. Bringing together big taste and bold flavors with the Southern hospitality of his youth, Luke opened his first restaurant in Douglas, GA during 2007, serving freshly prepared Tex-Mex favorites.

Surcheros quickly became a community favorite, a place where they remembered your order and your name. It wasn't long before others heard about this concept and desired one to open in their town. Luke, and his beautiful wife, Nicole, began to dream big and shared a vision of expansion.

In 2017, franchising Surcheros restaurants began with a complete remodel and updated branding, while staying true to their original convictions. By the end of 2020, Surcheros had quickly grown to 18 locations, with plans to build a flagship restaurant and corporate headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.

Based on this idea, and a desire to become a nationally visible brand, Luke and Nicole moved their family to Alpharetta, where they currently reside. They are so excited to continue their success, expanding the reach of Surcheros to North Georgia. Luke, Nicole and the entire Surcheros family cannot wait to serve the Alpharetta community and many, many more.
