Data Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong software engineering background and a passion for building efficient, scalable data solutions. In this role, you'll design and develop data structures and pipelines that power analytics, applications, and decision-making across the business. You'll work with a modern data stack, including Databricks and Microsoft Azure, to support our transition toward a Lakehouse architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures for both structured and unstructured data.
- Normalize databases and ensure data structures align with application and business requirements.
- Combine and transform raw data from multiple sources into clean, consistent, and machine-readable datasets.
- Support the evolution oSoutf our data platform from traditional relational systems to modern Lakehouse architectures.
- Build and optimize datasets that enable efficient analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and performance.
- Continuously improve data engineering practices, tools, and processes to enhance system scalability and reliability.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience manipulating and engineering data in a software engineering capacity.
- Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling principles.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in tools and frameworks such as Spark, Hive, and Airflow.
- Experience designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with both relational database systems and Lakehouse architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
- Exposure to data governance and metadata management practices.
Understanding of cloud-based security and data access control
