We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cultivation Technician to join the Certified Cultivators team in Dayton, Ohio. This position plays a key role in the daily care and production of high-quality cannabis plants for Ohio's patients.

As a Cultivation Technician, you'll work hands-on with plants from clone through harvest, for example - watering, pruning, transplanting, defoliating, and maintaining an ideal environment for healthy growth. You'll be responsible for following daily routines, monitoring plant health, and keeping accurate records in line with company procedures and state compliance standards.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The right person will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an eye for detail. They'll roll up their sleeves, stay focused, and help uphold Certified's culture of consistency, quality, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Monitor plant health and growth to identify and address any issues.
  • Assist in cultivation operations, including planting, pruning, and harvesting cannabis plants.
  • Utilize the Company's standard operating procedures to operate and maintain cultivation equipment and hand tools effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections for plant identification and pest management to promote healthy growth.
  • Engage in heavy lifting and physical labor to support various cultivation tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute daily tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Timely completion of work per schedule and strive to increase productivity through coordinated workflow and process improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain clean grow rooms and workspaces at all times by regularly sanitizing tools, equipment, and grow rooms to ensure sanitary practices and to keep pests away.
  • Use PPE as required: gloves, scrubs, tinted eye protection, hair-nets, beard-nets, and respirators, etc.

Basic qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check.
  • Prior nursery, agricultural, or horticultural experience preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and accountable for attendance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to work overtime when needed.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to stand, bend, or twist for extended periods of time.
  • Lift up to 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working with hands and small tools for long periods.
  • Comfortable working in warm, humid environments and on ladders as needed.
