POSITION PURPOSE: Develop and manage training tracking programs for Maintenance employees by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Confer with directors, managers and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the OKC Plant Operations.
  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
  • Administer tests to trainees for progress measurement and training effectiveness evaluation.
  • Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
  • Maintain trainee personnel records. Track all training using dedicated Training Software.
  • Create a checklist of key specific responsibilities related to each job that an associate must understand before they are able to be qualified.
  • Track the depth of knowledge for qualified associates for each position throughout the plant, focusing on the critical areas where depth is low.
  • Serve as the driver of Operational Training initiatives, but not the sole responsibility of the position. Required to work with current Maintenance Supervisors/Managers and trained associates in their efforts to train new or untrained associates on a new position.

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Tig and stick welding skills a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes, read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Computer experience/operation and an understanding of PLC operation are necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of machining and assembly practices, tools and fixtures
  • Must have complete knowledge of shop operations

Education and/or experience

  • Previous training and product experience or one year related training experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior Manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to develop and proof training materials. Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Comfortable using Computer Maintenance Management System
  • Ability to functions independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow the appropriate safety precautions.
  • Comfortable communication with all levels of management and employees.
  • Should be approachable and cordial.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to operate and provide classes and training for industrial power equipment such as Fork Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts and Telehandler All Terrain Fork Lift. Willing to obtain trainer certification from Oklahoma Safety Council.
