Electrical Estimator – Licensed Electrician

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator, has worked in the field, and is highly proficient in Accubid. This role is essential to our project planning and proposal process. You'll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field teams.

This is not an IT or general construction role. Only candidates with professional electrical field and estimating experience using Accubid will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive, accurate electrical estimates using Accubid (Classic or Enterprise), ensuring competitive bids aligned with project scope and profitability goals.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical plans to determine material, labor, and system requirements across commercial, industrial, and specialty projects.
  • Perform detailed material take-offs and cost analyses for labor, equipment, subcontractors, and vendors to support project feasibility and budgeting.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure estimates reflect real-world buildability and align with labor capabilities and production rates.
  • Lead or contribute to pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client presentations to clarify scope, address concerns, and build trust with stakeholders.
  • Identify and propose value engineering solutions to improve margins without compromising quality or code compliance.
  • Maintain and update a centralized database of historical costs, material pricing, vendor quotes, and productivity benchmarks for ongoing accuracy and forecasting.
  • Proactively assess and communicate scope risks, constructability issues, and schedule impacts during the preconstruction phase.

Required Qualifications:

  • State-licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master preferred)
  • 7+ years of field experience as an electrician
  • 5+ years of experience as an electrical estimator
  • Advanced proficiency in Accubid Classic or Enterprise
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and commercial/industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and deadline-driven
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
