Job Summary

Classes meet on Thursday evenings at 6pm and 7pm through May. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Experienced Hip Hop Teacher to energize our dance program and inspire students ages 6-8 and a Musical Theater Teacher for ages 4-6. In this role, you will lead energetic classes, and foster a positive environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and technical skill. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to cultivate a love for movement.

Duties

  • Teach hip hop dance lessons and musical theater lessons tailored to beginning students.
  • Lead engaging, high-energy classes that motivate students and promote active participation
  • Develop creative choreography that aligns with music trends
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and confidence
  • Incorporate elements of theater to enrich dance performances when appropriate
  • Collaborate with other instructors on curriculum development

Skills

  • Proven experience teaching hip hop dance and musical theater to children
  • Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline while fostering creativity and enthusiasm
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Experience working with students
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff and parents
