Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Thanksgiving Pet Sitter to join our team during the holiday season. Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive pet sitting services for dogs, cats, and other small animals during the Thanksgiving holiday period.
  • Administer pet medications as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
  • Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to prevent injury or escape.
  • Engage pets with positive interactions, including feeding, walking, playtime, and companionship.
  • Monitor pets for signs of stress or health issues and communicate concerns promptly to pet owners or veterinary professionals.
  • Assist with basic grooming tasks such as brushing or cleaning as needed to maintain pet hygiene.
  • Perform light cleaning duties related to pet care areas to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Manage heavy lifting when necessary for supplies or equipment related to pet care activities.
  • Maintain detailed records of each pet's behavior, health status, and any incidents during the stay.
  • Follow established protocols for animal handling and emergency procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' needs and any concerns that arise.

Experience

Candidates should demonstrate experience in animal handling and pet sitting, ideally with background in veterinary or veterinary technician roles. Prior kennel experience or work as a veterinary assistant is highly valued. Skills in dog training, animal restraint, and pet grooming are advantageous. Experience working with a variety of animals—including dogs, cats, and equines—is preferred. Strong customer service skills are essential for engaging with pet owners professionally and compassionately. Applicants must be physically capable of heavy lifting related to supplies or equipment. A genuine passion for animal care combined with excellent communication skills will ensure success in this role.
