Job Summary

Capitol Kids Development Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Pre-K teacher to join our team and work in our 3–4-year-old classroom. In this essential role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports the growth and learning of our preschoolers. Our center is licensed for 75 children ages 2–12 years old, and we pride ourselves on providing high-quality early childhood education in a caring and supportive setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the 3–4-year-old classroom with a focus on developmentally appropriate practices and school readiness.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that support cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Observe and assess children's development and communicate progress with families.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and consistent learning environment.
  • Participate in regular cleaning and upkeep of the classroom and shared spaces to maintain health and safety standards.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in early childhood education or childcare strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to lift and interact physically with young children.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a passion for working with young children are essential.
  • Must have 12 annual clockhours

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with 1-hour break) (Hours may possibly be 8:15am-5:15pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, will speak with further during interview)
