Job Summary
As an English Teacher, you will ignite a passion for language and literature in students, guiding them through the intricacies of reading, writing, and critical thinking. What you'll do
- Design and implement dynamic lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote literacy education.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management and classroom management techniques.
- Mentor students in their writing skills, providing constructive feedback on assignments and projects.
- Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and engage students in innovative ways.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials that reflect best practices in education.
- Provide academic advising to support students' educational goals and career aspirations.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with trends in linguistics, creative writing, and education administration.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills that foster collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
- Familiarity with AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and proofreading techniques.
- Background in special education or private school experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of standardized testing practices and tutoring methodologies.
