Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Lab Manager to lead our optical laboratory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ophthalmology, laboratory management, and optical experience, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. This role involves overseeing laboratory procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and driving sales through exceptional customer service. The Optical Lab Manager will play a key role in managing laboratory techniques, ensuring quality assurance, and supporting all laboratory staff to deliver outstanding vision care solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations, including optical procedures and techniques to ensure precision and quality.
  • Manage laboratory staff, providing training and guidance on laboratory techniques, machines and quality assurance protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and other regulatory requirements related to ophthalmic products.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient fabrication of optical lenses using coating, surface and finish edging equipment and other laboratory tools.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards in laboratory output.
  • Manage inventory levels for laboratory supplies and optical materials.
  • Support the development of new products or procedures based on industry advancements in physiology, anatomy, and ophthalmology.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of laboratory processes, inspections, and compliance activities.
  • Other Responsibilities will be assigned as the position grows.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in ophthalmology or optical laboratories with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Proven management experience in a laboratory or retail environment within the optical or ophthalmic industry.
  • Hands-on experience operating or similar precision manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmology principles relevant to vision care.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff on technical procedures and quality assurance protocols.
  • Familiarity with coating, surface and edging machinery, laboratory management software- DVI, and quality assurance practices is preferred. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team dedicated to advancing vision care through innovative laboratory practices and exceptional customer service.

Job Type: Full-time
