Principal Purpose of the Position:

•    Plans and oversees the work of maintenance staff to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the facility.

•    Oversees upkeep of buildings and grounds, as well as upkeep of machinery needed to operate and maintain the facility.

•    Performs maintenance duties him/herself as needed.

•    Maintain systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules.

•    Restores, repairs, rebuilds, or replaces faulty or inoperative components and parts.

•    Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews.

•    Implements production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards resolving problems.

•    Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitors expenditures.

•    Operates and tests systems and equipment.

•    Supervises hourly employees, including:

•    Selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees;

•    Communicating job expectations;

•    Planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions;

•    Adhering to policies and procedures.

•    Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:

•    Associates or Bachelor degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

•    Minimum of 5 years of general maintenance experience required.

•    Experience troubleshooting and correcting electrical or mechanical problems.

•    Experience maintaining inventory levels and scheduling work.

•    Formal training may be considered as substitution for experience requirements.

•    Technical training is required in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other related fields. 

Skills and Abilities:

•    Knowledge of existing manufacturing systems including computer systems, manufacturing making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems and process control techniques

•    Decisions are guided by resource availability and department/function objectives

•    Strong written and verbal communication

•    Effectively coaches, gives performance feedback and provides development opportunities within or across areas or departments

•    Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions

•    Ability to work under frequently changing priorities and deadlines

•    Strong problem solving skills

•    Basic computer skills required.

•    Ability to read blueprints and schematics required.

Supervisory responsibilities: Hourly employees

Work environment

•    Must be able to walk extensively during the workday, and stand for extended periods of time.

•    Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.

•    Computer work.
