Mental Health Technician

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to behavioral health nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the MHTassiststhe nursing staff in providing patient carein accordance withthe MHT's skills/training and the needs of theDepartment, andconsistentlyassiststhe patient care team withmaintaininga clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The MHTcomplies withall hospital policies/procedures andobservesthe State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

What you will do in this role:

You will activelyparticipatein departmental PI, as assigned byUnitDirector.

You will assume responsibility tomaintainknowledge of and compliance with all current hospital and departmental policies.

You willdemonstratethe knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria,appropriate tothe age of patients served in his/her assigned service area.

You willdemonstrateappropriateage relatednursing skills. (Age of patient documentation isaccurate,legibleand effectively completedin a timely manner.

What qualifications you will need:

High School diploma orAssociates Degreein related field.

BLS Certificationrequiredwithin30 daysof hire. (Facility provided)

Successful completion or CPI certificationrequiredwithin30 daysof hire. (Facility provided)

Previousmental health experience preferred.

One year hospital / nursing home experience, preferred.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care
