Position Overview:

We are seeking highly skilled
Back-End Software Development Engineers
to join an advanced technology team in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidates will have deep experience in
Java microservices
,
Spring Boot
, and
cloud-native architectures
, along with hands-on knowledge of
AWS
and
Kubernetes
environments. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems for enterprise-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical use cases.
• Design, develop, and maintain
  back-end services
  , including APIs, databases, and core business logic.
• Develop and maintain
  microservices
  using
  Java
  and
  Spring Boot
  , ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement
  RESTful
  and
  gRPC
  services integrating with APIs and
  Kafka topics
  .
• Partner with
  front-end developers
  and
  cross-functional teams
  (product owners, designers, architects) to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Manage
  application deployments
  in
  AWS
  or on-prem environments, including monitoring, tuning, and recovery.
• Administer
  data storage and retrieval
  using
  Oracle
  ,
  MySQL
  , or
  MongoDB
  .
• Promote engineering best practices such as
  test-driven development
  ,
  continuous integration
  , and
  continuous delivery
  .
• Implement security best practices to safeguard data (encryption, authentication, anonymization).
• Continuously optimize
  backend infrastructure
  for reliability and operational efficiency.

Required Skills:

• Java
  – Strong experience developing and maintaining distributed
  microservices
  with expertise in concurrency, error handling, and performance tuning.
• Spring Boot
  – Proven ability to design and implement
  REST
  or
  gRPC
  services.
• Proficiency in
  dependency injection
  ,
  configuration management
  , and
  secure service communication
  (OAuth2, mTLS).
• Familiarity with
  Maven
  builds and
  CI/CD pipelines
  (e.g., Concourse, ArgoCD).

Preferred Skills:

• JavaScript
  – Ability to understand and extend internal dashboards or middleware codebases.
• AWS / Kubernetes
  – Strong knowledge of
  EKS
  ,
  RDS
  ,
  MSK
  ,
  IAM
  ,
  ECR
  , and
  Terraform
  .
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting workloads in
  AWS EKS
  or similar
  Kubernetes
  environments.
• Python
  – Experience with

  and API integration.
• C#
  – Ability to support or migrate existing

Experience Required:

• 6+ years
  of experience in Information Technology.
• 4+ years
  of hands-on software development experience (backend focus).

Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree
  in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
