Direct Support Professional / Personal Attendant

 Location: Santa Barbara / Goleta
Full-Time & Part-Time | $20.00/hour

$500 New Hire Bonus after 90 days

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities—empowering them to reach their goals, make choices, and live with dignity.

What You'll Do:

Your responsibilities will vary based on the individual's needs but may include:

  • Supporting individuals with daily living skills like cleaning, cooking, and budgeting.

  • Encouraging independence, hobbies, and social activities.

  • Helping people access and participate in community events.

  • Providing personal care (such as hygiene or bathing), lifting/transferring, or medication support if needed.

  • Following care plans and documenting progress.

  • Maintaining a warm, respectful, and professional presence.

Facts About Who You Are Supporting:

  • Uses He/They pronouns

  • Loves animals, Dungeons and Dragons, goth culture, anime, and world history

  • Sticks to a strick routine/schedule and does not like changes or surprises

  • Must be able to cook and drive individual places

  • Individual owns a cat

  • This person needs a lot of support with motivation to clean up messes and patience with the individual

What We're Looking For:

  • Compassionate, dependable individuals with a person-first mindset.

  • Willingness to support others with dignity and respect, even during challenging moments.

  • Weekend availability is highly desirable

  • Valid driver's license (if applicable for the shift).

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification is a plus (we can help with training).
