Visionary Leader Wanted – Daycare Center Director

**Wee Luv'Em**, is a play-based, family-centered center in Northport, NY for over 30 years, is ready to soar. We seek an **innovative Daycare Center Director** with a bold vision for what an exceptional early childhood program *can* be—not just maintaining standards, but continuously elevating them.


What You'll Do:

  • Champion **developmentally appropriate, play-based learning** that meets every child where they are

  • Oversee operations for children (infants–preschool) across three classrooms

  • **Inspire, motivate, and unite** a team of educators in a culture of collaboration, reflection, and growth

  • **Set ambitious, measurable goals** for program quality, staff development, and family engagement—and provide the support, training, and resources to achieve them

  • Drive reflective practice at all levels: curriculum, teaching, leadership, and your own growth

  • Identify and seize **opportunities to enhance practices**, from curriculum innovation to outdoor learning and inclusion

  • Ensure full compliance while pushing beyond minimum standards (state licensing, NAEYC-aligned)

  • Grow enrollment through authentic family partnerships and community presence

  • Manage budget, staffing, and facilities with transparency and foresight

Who You Are:

  • **Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related** (Master's strongly preferred)

  • **3+ years as Director or Assistant Director** in a licensed, play-based center

  • **State Director Credential** (or eligible within 90 days)

  • **Deep expertise in early childhood development** and current, evidence-based practices

  • Proven ability to **build a reflective, collaborative culture** where staff feel empowered to grow

  • A **visionary thinker** who sees possibilities—never "treading water"

  • Skilled in goal-setting, data-informed decision-making, and resource allocation

  • Warm, approachable, and unrelenting in pursuit of excellence
