Job Summary
The Executive Director, Control Management is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal control strategy that aligns with the organization's overarching goals and risk management objectives. This position is tasked with driving enhancements in the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls by identifying and implementing strategic process improvements. The executive director conducts in-depth risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks, developing control activities to address these risks proactively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal control strategy aligned with the organization's goals and risk management objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify and mitigate risks, and develop control activities to address identified risks.
- Prepare and present regular reports on internal control activities, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders, including executive management.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Information Technology (IT), finance, business operations, and legal, to ensure effective communication and coordination of internal control activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 11+ years of experience in auditing, controls, accounting, or finance, with some experience in a public accounting firm and/or as a member of an internal controls function of a public company.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or other relevant certifications are preferred.
- Deep understanding of internal control and audit practices, methodologies, and standards, as well as risk management and governance processes.
