SUMMARY:  

The CUA Life Skills Coach works for the Intervention Team providing supportive services to the Case Management Team. This position works as part of the CUA Intervention Team while providing support to the Case Management Team. Intervention encompasses intervention, prevention and support practices for the entire CUA. The CUA Life Skills Coach also provides life skill training to foster and kinship families for the Bethanna CUA..

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field including sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or education.

• Knowledgeable in: development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures of therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.

• Two years experience in Child Welfare or a related field.

• Valid, timely Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI clearances that meet all regulatory requirements
  

 OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

The employee will have access to a personal car, to be used for transportation purposes during work. The Life Skills Coach will possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license (unless living in another state during the employment period), vehicle registration, car insurance, and have a safe driving record. A temporary exception regarding the PA license can be made for those who are coming from another state and require time to apply for a PA license. The employee will demonstrate safe driving skills while driving for work purposes. The employee must be at least 21 years of age. The employee must be free of communicable diseases as verified by a physician's statement prior to beginning the duties of this job. Personal computer skills and knowledge preferred (especially Microsoft Word 6.0 and Windows).
