Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility Mental Health Worker

Job Summary:

Provides direct supervision for youth within the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) setting ensuring their safety and maintaining a therapeutic environment and care. This position will seek to ensure trauma-informed care and the creation and maintenance of a trauma-informed environment on the PRTF unit.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  1. Implement individualized behavior and treatment plans developed by the Mental Health Professional.

  2. Provide direct supervision of youth intervening as necessary to ensure a safe environment.

  3. Group planning and facilitation (morning group goal setting, 1 hour and after noon psychoeducation group 1 hour)

  4. Supervise family visitation as needed.

  5. Liaison between educational program and residential unit staff.

  6. Supervision during recreation and outings, to include modeling and processing of appropriate social interactions.

  7. Participate in supervision with supervisor and psychiatrist.

  8. Provide updates to the supervisor as needed.

  9. Maintenance of file databases.

  10. Documentation of relevant information.

  11. Assist with scheduling and planning as needed.

  12. Work in conjunction with other staff to form efficient, effective, and cohesive team.

  13. Counseling, therapeutic interventions.

  14. Supervise client self administration of medication.

  15. Assists with campus coverage as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $18.50 per hour
