The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the operational success of the Distribution Center (DC) while cultivating a fun and hard-working environment for team members. The GM must have a passion for developing leaders, be data-centric and love analyzing trends, proficient in identifying opportunities and deploying actions while empowering a cohesive, motivated, and execution driven Leadership team.

Reporting to the Vice President of Distribution Center Operations, the DC General Manager will:

  • Ensure operational excellence in all areas of distribution, including safe and efficient use of labor, MHE equipment, and warehouse management systems, inventory management and product placement, proper maintenance, and organization of all distribution functions.

  • Provide leadership and direction for a 100 to 150+ person team, including 2 Managers and 8 Supervisors who are responsible for accurately processing and shipping 6,000-10,000 daily orders.

  • Responsible for overall performance of the DC, including but not limited to P&L, talent management and leadership development, defining KPIs and targets, internal & external SLAs, safety and security of the site, people, and inventory.

  • Collaborate with senior management to set DC policies, define success metrics, and analyze KPIs.

  • Analyze operations and financial data to develop actions to maximize quality, throughput, and space utilization.

  • Assist in the onboarding and ongoing management of 3PF clients to measure and achieve success metrics.

  • Review and develop a variety of projects, serve on task forces, and develop and publish operational performance reporting.

  • Recruit, mentor, train, and develop employees, conduct annual performance reviews and disciplinary meetings when necessary. Partner with onsite HRBP and Training Leader to coordinate efforts and set up new hires for success while improving retention.

  • Ensure a culture of safety by following safety policies and procedures.

  • Promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement by leading with lean approaches, six sigma tools, and 5S techniques to drive safety, quality, and productivity

  • Five plus years of demonstrated leadership of large teams in an automated distribution center environment

  • Experience with small package Third Party Fulfillment Operations (3PF).

  • Experience managing to seasonal/peak volumes and 24/7 coverage.

  • Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, technology and equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of slicing and dicing data to find trends.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • College degree preferred.
