Precision Canline Operations Technician

You're the person who keeps complex forming and packaging equipment humming, who hears a bearing before it talks, and who knows how to balance speed with quality. What a Day Looks Like- Prepare, start up, and run high-speed can manufacturing equipment to hit targets for safety, quality, and throughput.
- Dial in machine parameters to solve issues on the fly, sustain optimal speeds, and stabilize performance.
- Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative tasks to cut outages and extend machine life.
- Use your senses—listen, watch, and feel for irregular sounds, motion, or visual defects—and act immediately to correct.
- Stage and load materials safely; change tooling and molds; coordinate handoffs with upstream and downstream processes.
- Demonstrate reliability by maintaining equipment, following procedures, and delivering consistent, top-tier output.
- Run in-process checks and measurements so every container meets customer specifications.
- Contain and correct defects quickly; escalate significant issues to leads or technicians to protect schedule attainment.
- Capture accurate production data—counts, downtime, scrap/quality results—within company systems.
- Follow strict standards for quality, safety, and sanitation at all times.
- Support price competitiveness by championing efficient methods that protect quality.
- Partner with Maintenance, Supervisors, and peers to keep lines running at peak capability.
- Coach teammates on proper machine use, safety protocols, and quality expectations.
- Spot opportunities to reduce waste, boost efficiency, and enhance product consistency—and help implement them.
- Keep your area clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Education & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or related field.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment, motor controls, installations, or repair.
- Bonus: Prior experience in CNC, press operations, or technical manufacturing environments.
- Mechanical problem-solver who diagnoses issues fast and owns outcomes.
- Comfort with precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers), hand tools, and power tools.
- Fluent in following technical work instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong teammate and communicator across diverse backgrounds.
- Versatile, reliable, personable; committed to efficiency and cost-conscious practices.
- Basic math and computer data entry capability.
- Manufacturing setting with noise, moving machinery, and occasional chemicals.
- Stand/walk for up to 90% of the shift; frequent bending, twisting, climbing; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to climb ladders and, as needed, operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists.
- Use required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes.
- Typical schedule: 8-hour shifts, five days/week; overtime, weekends, or variable schedules as production requires.
- Regular, dependable attendance is essential.

Food Safety Compliance- Adhere to all BRCGS Food Safety requirements, site-specific policies, and applicable regulations.
- Follow enhanced hygiene, sanitation, and PPE requirements specific to food-grade operations.
- Support allergen control and contamination prevention.
- Accurately complete food safety records, monitoring logs, and traceability documentation per BRCGS standards.
- Participate in all required food safety and BRCGS trainings.
- Understand how assigned tasks affect product safety, legality, and quality.
- Assist with internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, certification) and demonstrate knowledge of responsibilities.
- Identify and report risks, nonconformances, or improvement opportunities that may impact food safety.
- Actively contribute to a strong food safety culture.
