Traveling Housekeeper

Overview

Monte Mar Enterprises is seeking a Traveling Housekeeper to join our team. The housekeeping team works together to clean and maintain residential and commercial buildings of the Florestal property among others. This position requires work both indoors and outdoors and duties vary on a regular basis. This role is based primarily in Santa Barbara, CA, but requires flexibility to travel to other properties to provide coverage or to assist during special events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and adaptable to different environments while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service.

Duties

• Perform general and specialized cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned properties.
• Launder clothing, linens, bedding, towels as necessary.
• Iron/steam as needed.
• Wash and put away dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, and pans.
• Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and clean mirrors.
• Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.
• Remove used/soiled linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets.
• Place and neatly tuck clean sheets and blankets on beds and replace pillowcases.
• Stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms as well as bathmats and rugs.
• Empty trash and recycling containers.
• Clean appliances, including ovens, refrigerators, barbeques, and others.
• Clean indoor and outdoor furniture.
• Clean and assist in the care of family pets.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain equipment in good condition.
• Report on any shortages, damages, or security issues.
• Check levels of all consumables and restock when appropriate.
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
• Utilizes the proper cleaning solutions and techniques to minimize injury or illness.
• Maintains and correctly use company issued personal protective equipment.
• Event-related preparations and clean-up, which may require overtime, weekend, or holiday work.
• Travel by car, plane, or other modes of transportation, as needed.
• Represents the organization with the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Performs duties discreetly, allowing for privacy when family members are present
• Remains watchful; calls out any potential issues and actions needed in assigned areas
• Notifies management immediately of any safety-related issues
• Calls out any current processes or procedures that can be improved
• Perform other duties as assigned

Special Projects

Special Projects as assigned/requested by supervisors. These may be short or long-term assignments.

Qualifications:

• Sufficient ability to read, write, speak understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously
• The highest level of confidentiality
• Professionalism in appearance and demeanor
• The ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Patience and flexibility in a very fast paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
• The ability to work with minimal supervision
• High degree of motivation – self starter
• A valid California Driver's License and clean driving record, per DMV Report
• The ability to fly comfortably in small aircraft when requested
• The ability to speak Spanish fluently a plus
• A good sense of humor - a must

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work entire shift
• Walking: Frequently throughout the shift
• Standing: For up to 4–6 hours at a time
• Sitting: For up to 1–2 hours at a time (during breaks or travel)
• Driving: As needed for travel between properties
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods
• Frequent bending (from waist), pushing and bending
• Ability to climb stairs regularly
• Continuous reaching, squatting. kneeling
• Lifting (up to 25 lbs.)
• Visual acuity
