SOX Senior Accountant Analyst

We are searching for a highly skilled and detailed-oriented SOX Senior Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will independently conduct audit and advisory activities to ensure adequacy of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and to enhance operational efficiencies. The person in this position will assess risks and controls for financial reporting by following OneMain's adopted control assessment approach. This position interacts with internal and external auditors, as well as process owners and executives. The person in this role will serve as the Internal Controls liaison for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) business processes.

In the Role

· Independently prepare process documentation and analyze current operating processes and policies to identify and measure various types of risk.

· Assist with the identification of risks and controls.

· Collaborate with process owners to update process documentation (flowcharts/narratives/risk and control matrices).

· Perform tests of design and tests of operating effectiveness for key controls.

· Independently and accurately document, evaluate, and communicate audit results accurately and in accordance with workpaper documentation standards.

· Advise control owners on internal control design, integration, implementation, and execution.

· Assist with remediation of key control failures, by evaluating root causes and defining solutions.

· Identify proper accounting treatment and control evidence documentation, research issues, and recommend policy or procedure improvements.

· Assist with testing of SOC 1 controls.

· Assist with preparation of OneMain SOC 1 report.

· Serve as a key contact for controls, IPE baselining, and IT-dependent projects.

· Act as a point of contact between the organization, external auditors, and the SOX team.

· Conduct and effectively handle special assignments for management as requested.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related financial field.

· 3+ years of accounting or related experience.

· Proven track record of meeting SOX regulatory requirements and standards set by PCAOB and adopted by the SEC.

Preferred:

· 1+ year of public accounting experience.

· SOX experience in financial services companies

· Relevant certifications, such as: CPA, CFE, CISA or CIA.
