POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a
Sr. Project Engineer
at LJA
Public Works
, you will be responsible for performing multiple tasks which will provide familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of LJA. Such tasks included but are not limited to; design calculations, preparation of CAD exhibits/plans, and support engineers with report preparation.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Providing and managing technical analysis of large watershed engineering projects or a number of smaller projects with many complex drainage features.
• Provide technical support for a team to produce hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports with knowledge of municipal and federal requirements.
• Use standard and advanced modeling techniques, theory, and practices in hydrology and hydraulics related disciplines.
• Senior Project Engineer will interact with the Client (internal and external) and must have good communication skills.
• Knowledge in the development of construction cost estimates, design plans, and specifications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas
• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) a plus

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years' experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, detention design, FEMA Letters of Map Change, and Floodplain Fill Mitigation Plans.
• Proficient in commonly used H&H software such as HEC-RAS (steady, Unsteady, and/or 2D), HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, XP-SWMM, or XP-STORM.
• Working knowledge of GIS is a plus.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships
