Patient Representative – Hand Center

Work Week: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Location: Hand Center
Job Responsibilities:
- Pleasantly checks in/ out and schedules patient's appointments within SOS as needed using Phreesia for patient check in. Provides appropriate front desk forms to patients to fill out if manual check-in is warranted and other secretarial type duties.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and stays up to date on our insurance policies, properly inform patients of "par" status and referral requirements. Utilizes insurance information provided by our billing department/management team. Follows protocol for use of Waiver forms and/or GFE process and advises of patient portal.
- If scheduling, appropriately asks questions of new patients and schedules with appropriate SOS provider. Utilizes triage nurse as necessary when there is a question about appointment availability or if addressing a patient walking in.
- Responds to any scheduling or rescheduling needs of our Physicians as notified by supervisor or provider. Reschedules patients correctly & timely in system and will alert patients checking in if provider running late or need to reschedule.
- Utilizes electronic health record to properly conduct registrations, appointment scheduling, referrals, etc. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge as necessary with billing system.
- Takes patient task messages according to protocol ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
