Compensation: $150-175,000 (annually)

General Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Controls/Audit Advisor to lead and execute high-impact, risk-based audits focused on Treasury and Financial Risk Management functions. This role requires in-depth expertise in banking, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management. The ideal candidate will evaluate control design, perform testing, and deliver assurance on critical areas, including liquidity risk, capital adequacy, asset and liability management (ALM), and resolution planning. This position plays a key role in identifying risks, ensuring effective controls, and delivering actionable insights to executive leadership.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive internal audit experience within banking or financial institutions
  • Expertise in Corporate Treasury, with strong knowledge of liquidity management, capital management, stress testing, and large-balance-sheet oversight
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including Basel III, LCR/NSFR, TLAC, and oversight from the Fed, OCC, and FDIC
  • Proven ability to lead audits and mentor staff, including writing reports and presenting findings to executives
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience testing financial models, liquidity forecasting, and contingency planning
  • Proven ability to assess risk and control environments within a complex banking organization
  • Relevant certifications preferred (CIA, CISA, CPA, CFA, CRCM, etc.) – required to obtain within 24 months if not in place
