Responsibilities:

  • Tutor students from grades K through 11 using our Math curriculum
  • Ability to manage a target class size of up to 6 students
  • Grade homework assignments, tests, and/or essays (no work is required outside of class time)
  • Maintain student progress reports
  • Skilled & highly proficient in the use of technology as a teaching tool and interactive relationship with students. Is able to efficiently assist students with basic troubleshooting needs, especially with technology. Comfortable to learn new technology in relation to education

Work Schedule:

  • Tuesday from 4:15pm to 8:00pm
  • Wednesday from 4:15pm to 8:00pm
  • Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm

Position Specifics:

  • Salary: $15 to $17 an hour (depends on qualification and experience)
  • Math Tutors - All subject areas relating to Math; including but not limited to: Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Calculus, and standardized test preparation (SAT and ACT)

Requirements:

  • College sophomore or higher majoring in Math, Engineering, Education or related field
  • Instructors should be comfortable working one-on-one, or in small groups
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as a team member
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to teach students in caring and confident manner
  • Experience in a tutorial program is preferred, but not required.
  • Special consideration for those who want to be teachers
