Pay: $25 – $35 per hour DOE

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (hours may vary depending on workload)

Position Overview



We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to create detailed drawings for shell and tube heat exchangers in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical drafting skills, knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The CAD Drafter will play a key role in ensuring accurate, code-compliant designs that support shop fabrication and production needs.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detail drawings for use in shop fabrication.



  • Complete Code Data Reports for each exchanger.



  • Perform basic design of certain non-code parts not handled by the Product Designer.



  • Finalize tube layouts, including tie rods, seal bars, and dummy tubes.



  • Verify all drawings meet ASME Code, TEMA Standards, and other applicable requirements.



  • Validate that drawings meet user-defined needs and specifications.



  • Maintain and care for assigned computer and drafting systems.





Tools & Equipment Used

  • Proficient with drafting software, tube layout software, and design software.



  • Skilled in 2D CAD drawing and occasional hand-drawn drafting using ink pens, pencils, templates, and compasses.



  • Capable of performing office functions and shop tasks, including use of a tape measure.



  • Must wear safety glasses or goggles when working in fabrication areas.





Required Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 3 years drafting experience in a mechanical or industrial engineering environment.



  • Familiarity with TEMA standards and ASME codes (heat exchanger experience preferred).



  • Strong proficiency in 2D drafting and technical documentation.



  • Prior experience preparing and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).



  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong problem-solving skills.
