Summary

The Inventory Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient control of inventory levels, from procurement to storage and distribution. Managing and controlling the organization's inventory, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely availability of goods and materials. T

Essential Functions/Duties

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain and update accurate records of inventory levels, including stock in hand, stockouts, and overstock situations.
  • Monitor inventory transactions, such as receipts, returns, and adjustments, to ensure accuracy.

Receiving and Inspection:

  • Receive incoming shipments, verify the contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect received items for quality and quantity, reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate parties.

Sock Organization:

  • Organize and manage the physical layout of the warehouse or storage area to optimize space utilization.
  • Implement an effective system for labeling and categorizing items for easy identification and retrieval.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Coordinate the picking and packing of orders, ensuring that the correct items are selected and packaged for shipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.

Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues related to shipments.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to address inventory-related concerns and optimize stock levels.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, track turnover rates, and anticipate future stock needs.
  • Generate reports on inventory performance and present findings to management for decision-making.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that products meet specified standards.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of inventory items, identifying and addressing any quality issues.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.
  • Generate and analyze reports to assess inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Problem Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records and take corrective actions to prevent future errors.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to damaged or defective products in the inventory.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards in all inventory-related activities.
  • Stay informed about industry's best practices and implement improvements to enhance inventory management processes.

Training and Supervision:

  • Train and supervise staff involved in inventory-related tasks.
  • Provide guidance on proper inventory handling procedures and ensure adherence to established protocols.
  • These essential job functions and duties may vary depending on the industry, company size, and specific requirements of the organization. Inventory Coordinators play a vital role in maintaining an efficient and well-organized inventory system, contributing to the overall success of the supply chain and business operations.

  1. Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  2. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  3. Ability to work effectively with or without direct supervision as well as independently or in a team environment.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical/Cognitive Demands

This is largely a physically active role including, walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility is required. Position also requires the ability bend, stoop, squat or stand as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.

Position Type/Expected Hour of Work

This is a Full-time position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. HS Diploma/GED
  2. 2 years of experience in a similar role.

 Preferred Education and Experience

  1.  Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  2. Prior experience in a manufacturing organization.
