Daily Manager & Dog Walker (Hybrid Role)

Pay: $18/hour + mileage + tips (when walking)

Schedule: M–F, approx. 15–30 hrs/week

Happy Tails is hiring a part-time Daily Manager & Dog Walker to work closely with our owner and support both operations and field work. This hybrid role includes dog walking, scheduling, client communication, and business assistant tasks. Must be reliable, organized, and comfortable stepping into dog walking routes as needed.

What You'll Do

Dog Walking (Regular Field Work):

  • Dog walks/pet visits

  • Serve as backup for call-offs and urgent coverage

  • Handle dogs of all sizes; work outdoors in all weather

Scheduling & Operations:

  • Assign and adjust shifts for staff

  • Manage daily/weekly schedules

  • Support field staff and ensure coverage

Client & Team Communication:

  • Respond to client messages

  • Coordinate updates with walkers/sitters

  • Help resolve schedule or service issues

Business Assistant Tasks:

  • Work directly with the owner on daily tasks

  • Organize documents, SOPs, training materials

  • Assist with basic admin, data entry, and project tasks

Hours

  • 15–20 hrs/week admin + 10–15 hrs/week dog walking

  • Total ~ 25–30 hrs/week

  • Must be available for midday and afternoon field work

  • Must be able to step in as an on-call reserve walker between 8am and 8pm

  • Reliable insured transportation

  • Live near our Columbus service areas

  • Strong communication & organization

  • Tech-savvy; comfortable with scheduling apps, CRM systems

  • Able to walk dogs in all weather

  • Background check required

  • Admin, management, or pet care experience preferred
