Household & Property Operations Manager

Full-Time Monday–Friday In-Home Role

We are seeking an exceptionally organized, proactive, and dependable Household & Property Operations Manager to keep our home and family running smoothly. This role combines high-level household management, daily housekeeping, family assistance, and oversight of a nearby rental property (Airbnb/short-term or long-term rental).

Key Responsibilities

Daily Household Care & Cleaning

  • Clean, tidy, and maintain all living spaces to a consistently high standard
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wipe down surfaces throughout the home
  • Keep the kitchen clean: dishes, counters, fridge organization, daily reset
  • Manage laundry from start to finish: washing, drying, folding, hanging, and putting away
  • Keep the laundry room organized and stocked
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in high-traffic areas

Organization & Household Systems

  • Maintain overall home organization; declutter and straighten daily
  • Organize closets, drawers, bins, and storage spaces
  • Manage children's clothing systems:
  • Seasonal switch-outs
  • Try-on sessions to determine what fits
  • Organizing hand-me-down bins
  • Keeping current, next-size, and donate piles labeled and sorted
  • Oversee home inventory (toiletries, cleaning supplies, pantry items)
  • Order new household items proactively when running low
  • Identify organizational needs and recommend solutions (bins, labels, systems)

Family Support & Child-Related Tasks

  • Enforce children's daily and weekly chores
  • Assist with homework as needed
  • Plan, prep, and occasionally cook meals (primarily for children)
  • Load and unload the dishwasher
  • Help maintain the family calendar, including school events, activities, appointments
  • Proactively communicate upcoming schedule items to parents
  • Pickup children from school and drive them to after-school activities
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, post office, etc.

Proactive Household Management

  • Notice household needs and address them independently
  • (Example: order more dish soap before it runs out; refill toilet paper in bathrooms)
  • Keep the home consistently "company-ready"
  • Help prep the home for upcoming trips, events, guests, or seasonal needs
  • Assist with packing lists, children's clothing needs for upcoming trips (e.g. ski gear)
  • Support occasional household projects

Rental Property / Airbnb Management

  • Manage all communication with prospective and confirmed guests
  • Respond promptly to booking requests, questions, and messages
  • Coordinate check-in and check-out processes
  • Change door codes after each stay
  • Clean the rental property between stays and prepare it for new guests
  • Restock household items, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities
  • Maintain an inventory checklist
  • Report any missing or damaged items
  • Coordinate with owners and vendors as needed
  • Ensure the property is consistently guest-ready and maintained at a high standard

Ideal Candidate

  • Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communicator—clear, proactive, and timely
  • Able to anticipate needs without being asked
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Warm, patient, reliable, and comfortable engaging with children
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of family privacy
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Experience in housekeeping, household management, childcare support, hospitality, or Airbnb management is a major plus

Position Details

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (some flexibility helpful)
  • Must be comfortable driving children and running errands
  • Compensation based on experience
  • Long-term employment preferred
