Experienced Clinical Nurse - Main Operating Room - Evening Shift

Schedule Two 12-hour shifts: 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. and Two 8-hour shifts: 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. with days off TBD based on institutional needs. The first 4-6 months will include Operating Room Orientation, Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm.

SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Clinical Nurse in the Operating Room is to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures, while supporting the surgical team and maintaining a sterile environment.

The Clinical Nurse in the Operating Room must have at least one year of nursing experience in the Operating Room.

EDUCATION:

Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: At least one year of Operating Room registered nursing experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification if working in the following department: Nursing Post Anesthesia Care Unit

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license. Upon Hire and
  • Required: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire and
  • Required: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following department: Nursing Post Anesthesia Care Unit Upon Hire
  • Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification Upon Hire
  • Preferred: Certification in specialty practice area. Upon Hire

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
