AOI/X-Ray Production Lead

The AOI/X-Ray Production Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and X-Ray inspection operations within the PCBA production. This role ensures high-quality inspection results, maintains equipment performance, and supports continuous improvement in defect detection and product quality. The AOI/X-Ray Production Lead will guide employees toward achieving company set goals, promote a positive team culture / environment and enhance team performance, ensure everyone has the proper training and provide additional training when needed.
Essential Functions

Adhere to the company's ISO Quality Management System.
Assign tasks to AOI/X-Ray machine technicians and monitor workflow to ensure production targets are met.
Train machine technicians on AOI/X-Ray operation, defect classification, and IPC standards.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
Ensure adherence to company quality standards, IPC-A-610, and customer requirements.
Perform first level trouble shooting, either through personal knowledge or communicating with the manufacturers of the equipment.
Collaborate with the quality team to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Perform preventative maintenance on automated production equipment.
Program automated production equipment; run and operate automated production equipment.
Troubleshoot automated production equipment either through personal knowledge or communicating with the manufacturers of the equipment.
Order and maintain stock for spare parts of the automated production equipment.
Train machine operators on how to appropriately operate the automated production equipment.
Ensure work area is kept clean and free of debris.
Adhere to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

This position has direct reports and supervisory responsibilities that include all aspects of the employee life cycle including, but not limited to time card approval, hiring, onboarding and training, performance management, coaching and mentoring, etc.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and caustic fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, use fine hand motor skills/dexterity, use repetitive motions, and lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
Knowledge of electronic components and equipment.
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.
1+ year of lead or supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
