AutoCAD Automation and Drafting Specialist

M&J Engineering, D.P.C. is seeking a technically proficient AutoCAD specialist with hands-on experience in
C# and Python
to support and enhance ongoing
automation and visualization workflows
. This position combines traditional CAD drafting responsibilities with active participation in the
development, testing, and refinement of custom automation tools
that streamline drawing production and data integration.
The selected candidate will collaborate with a senior engineer on projects involving
large-scale drawing processing, geometry analysis, data extraction, and 3D model generation
. The role requires working with drawings from multiple clients, each with unique standards and requirements, while contributing to the improvement of internal automation systems and CAD best practices. Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and maintain AutoCAD drawings in compliance with project and client standards.
- Contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of AutoCAD automation tools written in C# and Python.
- Analyze existing workflows and propose enhancements to improve efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
- Support 3D modeling and geometry-based automation processes.

Salary Range: $93,000 to $104,000 per year
Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting; experience with Revit is a plus.
- Knowledge of Python and C# for automation or plugin development.
- Experience using or extending the AutoCAD .NET API and/or COM interface preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on workflow optimization and technical improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to adhere to established standards and documentation practices.
- Bonus: familiarity with HTML/JavaScript-based visualization frameworks (e.g., , WebGL), GIS.
