About the Role:
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to join the Office of Sustainability. This role supports the implementation of Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) initiatives and sustainability programs across the organization. The ideal candidate is passionate about climate action, has strong project management expertise, and can work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to drive impactful sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and track sustainability and
ZEV projects,
including project plans, deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
Facilitate project status meetings, document updates, and report milestones and scope changes.
Support pilot programs for workplace and mobile EV charging infrastructure; develop plans to scale successful initiatives.
Analyze charger needs and vehicle utilization, coordinate with technical staff on electrical feasibility, and recommend deployment strategies.
Advance process improvements and change management initiatives to streamline sustainability programs.
Monitor local, state, and federal ZEV policies, incentives, and technology trends.
Identify and pursue grants or funding opportunities to support ZEV and sustainability initiatives.
Develop presentations, reports, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
Manage contracts and support operational execution of ZEV programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Project Management, Energy Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, project management, cleantech/climatetech, fleet management, or engineering.
Demonstrated knowledge of ZEV technology, energy systems, infrastructure deployment, and sustainability principles.
Strong project management, analytical, and quantitative skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn Port Authority reporting systems.
Hands-on experience with energy/mechanical equipment and metering technology is a plus.
Must be available for immediate assignment and able to obtain SWAC I.D. security clearance.
