The Senior Ops Training Specialist is responsible for managing the Training function within the Operations Department. The Senior Specialist will develop, prepare, and deliver the Training Program and training materials to meet site requirements. They ensure that the best methodologies are used to develop the knowledge, skill, and competence of Operations Personnel
.
They also ensure training is scheduled in accordance with site procedures and relevant training is delivered according to procedures and documented in the Learning Management System (LMS), thus ensuring adherence with Statutory, Regulatory & Corporate standards. The Senior Training Specialist will implement and conduct Operations training and certification, coach trainers, review and provide suggestions for operational and training improvements and best practices, and audit and report on operational performance against procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, prepare, and deliver training materials to meet site and organizational needs.
  • Coordinate and schedule New Hire Orientation for all groups onsite.
  • Identify, design, deliver, and track learning and development activities consistent with a cGMP environment.
  • Manage all activities within the Operations Training Department in compliance with corporate, cGMP, EHS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all related activities are planned and executed to meet business needs, customer needs and the Operations schedule.
  • Provide leadership and direction within the Training function.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
  • Ensure training is scheduled for target audiences (as required) and invite employees to scheduled classroom training, set up training venues, and provide training documentation.
  • Manage and review completed training records, and ensure training records are submitted to the LMS Administrator for accurate record keeping.
  • Maintain Site and Department training plans.
  • Provide required reporting on training metrics for site/organization.
  • Be available for other projects or assignments as requested by management.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of a High School or equivalent diploma is required; Bachelor's or equivalent degree and/or focused degree strongly preferred

Required
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Work experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, or similarly regulated manufacturing industry
  • Excellent influencing (without direct authority), partnering /collaboration, and communication skills, including good oral and written presentation skills and a proven ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability or understanding of how adults learn, and what is needed for people to adopt the right skills and mentality to conduct their jobs with high quality

Preferred

  • Experience outlining, setting up, and implementing a training program
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies
  • Working knowledge of cGMP requirements in a pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing environment

  • Must be willing and able to meet the physical demands of this job which include: standing, walking, climbing, bending, stopping, reaching with hands and arms, and using hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Requires ability and willingness to move around the manufacturing plant to perform on the shop floor knowledge transfers
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • May require up to 10% domestic travel
