Job Overview
We are a Hot Rod and Kustom shop in Nashville, TN and We're looking for highly talented and experienced Mechanic, Body and Paint Tech and metal fabricator to join the team. Our shop is looking for a highly self-motivated individual who can work well independently or collaboratively, is extremely organized, and has a well-rounded automotive skill set.
EXPERIENCED - ETHICAL - PASSIONATE
We want someone that can't think of anything other than building cars. A Craftsman who is honest and responsible. A real Technician that knows the value of hard work and good tools. A Fabricator who can bend and shape metal to his/her will. A person who is confident and comfortable working on anything that can be called a Classic Car. This is an opportunity to work in a real hot rod and kustom shop building all THE classic cars, where every day brings a different challenge.
*MUST HAVE YOUR OWN SET OF QUALITY TOOLS*
Shop Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm (no weekends) We offer weekly pay and PTO. Located near Downtown Nashville. Pay based on experience. Possibility of hourly pay increase upon 90-day review.
Duties
- Must be organized with good problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to follow written/oral directions and be self-motivated. (i.e. we don't want to micromanage you)
- Must have mastered basic automotive mechanical skills
- Must be experienced with TIG/MIG welding.
- Must have extensive knowledge of wiring, wiring harnesses, and electrical.
- Must have extensive fabrication skills (firewalls, floor pans, custom made brackets, etc.)
Skills
- BRAKE SYSTEM DESIGN: includes knowing how to set up everything from the brake pedal pad to the calipers or wheel cylinders.
- POWERTRAIN SYSTEMS: includes taking crate long blocks and transmissions, mating them, installing them into vehicles, installing their accessories, making them run and work.12V ELECTRICAL: installing components and wiring up a vehicle from scratch materials if need be.
- CHASSIS & SUSPENSION: includes fabrication and mechanics, setting up custom or swapped suspensions, IFS, 4-links, Air ride, and building chassis from scratch.
- BODY AND SHEET METAL: design and fabrication including repairing rust and cancer, replacing body panels, building custom or replacement body panels, building bodies.
- BODY WORK AND PAINT: Pulling and smoothing out metal, body working and paint prep, high quality paint application.
- Certified PPG Painter (BIG PLUS but not required)
