Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our Pediatrc Dental Team for Mondays and Wednesdays 9AM-6PM. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced dental office environment. This role requires proficiency in various medical and dental terminology, as well as experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently.
  • Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification for patients.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process medical billing and coding using CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed, including filing and data entry.
  • Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and care plans.
  • Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for managing patient information.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10).
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review.
  • Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to assist diverse patient populations.
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems and clerical duties is beneficial.
  • Ability to provide outstanding patient service while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of health information management practices is an asset.
