General Summary:The incumbent works in close partnership with the AVP to design and implement comprehensive quality audit programs for the Operational functions in the US based enterprise. Programming and trend reporting are designed to provide operationally valuable information to inform business leaders and is continually under revision to incorporate transformational, technology or structural changes in the operation. The incumbent oversees teams of skilled auditors who are in multiple locations and audit a wide range of technical content. The incumbent is also tasked with contributing to lifecycle auditing and working cross functionally to develop programs providing broader business insights. The incumbent partners with corporate functions in internal audit and controls to ensure programming is sufficient for System & Organization Controls (SOC) or other control needs.Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the strategic direction, development, and implementation of the Quality Audit (QA) plans, a key control mechanism for the company.
- In concert with QA peers, design and deliver Customer Lifecycle Audits to cross-functional operational leaders; ensure follow through on recommendations that require changes to policies & procedures (P&P).
- Analyze data to develop trend analysis and provide clear, concise, and actionable reporting to Operations.
- Partner and communicate effectively with management on trends within Operations to develop action plans in response to QA results including the implementation of targeted assessments.
- Collaborate with leaders of quality and compliance functions to provide holistic, actionable trend analysis to operational partners.
- Effectively provide leadership to a cross site QA team, to include ensuring appropriate training, mentoring and effective use of performance experience (PX) to embed Our Values and Leadership Expectations
- Respond to and take appropriate action in support of various audit functional requests from regulatory audit and compliance partner organizations.
- Ensure effective interaction and collaboration with various business partners, sharing data and reporting designed to enhance operational effectiveness and quality.
- Partner with operational leaders to develop quality management strategies in support of vendor integration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- A minimum of five years total of technical or leadership experience, with a preference for experience with multiple products or functional areas; College Degree preferred.
- Prior people Management experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Demonstrated superior relationship development and partnering skills, both internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced facilitation and presentation skills; ability to influence external/internal audiences at various levels, including executive leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret data analytics to identify trends and appropriate actions based on key business indicators/trends; ability to interpret cross-functional data and audits to determine root causes of errors.
- Ability to make balanced and objective decisions; ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or novel situations.
- Occasional cross-site travel required.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$89,900.00-$169,900.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
