- Prepares, updates, and delivers classroom and behind-the-wheel training for new trainees. Completes accident retraining as needed.
- Conducts evaluations of trainees and performs road evaluations of existing operators.
- Documents training performed and assists the Safety Manager in creating and maintaining Safety and Training Files.
- Mentor's new drivers to ensure they are successful.
- Monitors DriveCam and coaches behaviors with operators as needed.
- Assists in conducting monthly in-service safety meetings.
- Performs duty of an Operations Coordinator when needed.
- Other duties as requested.
- 21 years or older
- Valid CDL Class A or B with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
- Excellent communication & customer service skills.
- Availability to work: day, evening, weekend and overnight shifts as assigned.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-50% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 80 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
