Location: Long Beach, CA

Contract Type: 13 Weeks Contract to Permanent

Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Pay Range: $34 to $37 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD).
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, assembled, and sterilized.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, AAMI, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with the OR and nursing units to meet surgical schedule demands.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate SPD staff to maintain top-notch performance.
  • Manage inventory, restocking, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot sterilization or equipment issues efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Certification: CRCST or CBSPD required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Sterile Processing, with leadership or coordinator experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and instrument management systems.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
