Home Health Agency in District of Columbia looking for License Practical Nurses for 8 and 12 hour shift work. 6 Weekend shifts and 3 Weekday shift available. Must have DC License.

· Provide direct care one-on-one care using established nurse practice standards, sound judgment and critical thinking.

· Perform g-tube care, g-tube feeding, and/or airway management, tracheotomy care, (additional other skills) according to plan of care.

· Prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, via g-tube, topical, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications. Observe, report and record adverse reactions to medications and/or treatment.

· Monitor vital signs and report to Agency/PCP pursuant to parameters in plan of care. Provide accurate, detailed and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing process.

· Perform all skills, treatments and procedures competently in accordance to the scope of practice as defined in the Nurse Practice Act and adheres to the policies, procedures and protocols of the Agency.

· Follow principles of Infection Control and Universal Precautions.

· Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.

· Use equipment properly and in a safe manner.

· Maintains confidentially of all health conditions, informing only staff with a need to know per HIPAA requirements and Agency policy guidelines.

· Performs other job related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with patients and their families in an empathetic and professional manner.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and online patient software.
  • A Minimum of One years of nursing experience in an acute care setting or long term care

Education and Experience:

  • Graduated from an accredited practical or vocational school of nursing with a valid and current LPN license in the District of Columbia

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, PRN

Pay: $ $43.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
