Job Overview

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a hands-on and motivated 2nd Shift CNC Lead to join our client's manufacturing team. In this role, you'll be both a leader and an active contributor on the production floor—supporting your team, solving problems, and helping ensure smooth, efficient operations throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily 2nd shift production activities to maintain schedule, safety, and quality targets.
  • Operate CNC machines and assist with setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Support team members with machine issues, setup improvements, and production challenges.
  • Monitor in-process inspections to verify product quality meets customer and company standards.
  • Maintain detailed shift documentation and communicate key updates to management and other shifts.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and help implement changes that increase safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Serve as the key point of contact between 2nd shift operations, other shifts, and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machining, production processes, and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and support a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Organized, reliable, and proactive approach to daily operations.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours or work overtime when production demands require it.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70, $85,000.00 per year
