Position Summary
The Community Living Specialist supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by overseeing and implementing person-centered support plans. This position also ensures regulatory compliance and leads a team of Direct Support Professionals to uphold quality standards. Working closely with families and other team members, the specialist helps each individual chart a meaningful and self-directed path in life.

Earn your FLS badge within one year of enrollment

Receive a coinciding pay increase and bonus incentive upon certification
Key Responsibilities
-
Coordinate and implement person-centered plans and ISPs (Individual Support Plans)
-
Revise ISPs to reflect goals and outcomes chosen by individuals
-
Ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of assessments
-
Promote independence, safety, and self-determination
-
Support community involvement and relationship-building
-
Maintain regular communication with families and supervisors
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:
-
Associate's degree + 4 years of direct experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities

Bachelor's degree + 2 years of direct experience
-
Master's degree + 1 year of direct experience
Additional Requirements:
-
Satisfactory Act 33/34 clearances and FBI background check
-
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and properly insured vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)
-
First Aid/CPR certification (within two months of hire)
-
Completion of Medication Administration training (provided by Achieva)
