      The Black Horse Pike Regional School District has immediate openings for Substitute School Bus Drivers.

    Qualifications:
     
  1. High School Diploma
  2. Must hold a valid N.J. CDL Class B License with passenger endorsement, no passenger restrictions and School Bus Endorsements
  3. Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
  4. Ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure their safety and well-being and protect against vandalism
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal:
 
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extra-curricular program, when full-time drivers are absent.
 
Performance Responsibilities:
 
  1. Conducts a daily safety inspection of the bus, completes the School Bus Condition Report and submits them weekly.
  2. Obeys all traffic laws.
  3. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
  4. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
  5. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus daily.
  6. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
  7. Adheres to established routes, designated bus stops and keeps to assigned time schedule.
  8. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
  9. Keeps assigned bus clean and fueled.
  10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out -of -state school trips.
  11. Transport only authorized students.
  12. Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
  13. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
  14. Plan trip directions prior to departure with plans for potential road assistance if the bus breaks down.
  15. Remove snow as needed to ensure the bus is safe for operations and travel on roadways.
  16. Keep the proper amount of fuel in the bus at all times.
  17. Complete all required training in a timely manner.
  18. Perform any and all other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: During days that full-time drivers are absent. May also cover
athletic runs and field trips
 
Per policy 4125, the district will give preference to qualified individuals who are residents of the Black Horse Pike Regional School District.
