About Us
We are a well-established, mid-sized general contractor specializing in retail upfits/rollouts, multi-family capital expenditure improvements, and historic adaptive reuse projects (primarily multi-family and mixed-use). Our portfolio includes national retail brands, institutional-grade multi-family owners, and high-profile historic renovations valued between $2M–$25M. We pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship, on-time/on-budget delivery, and long-term client relationships.
Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent/Site Foreman plays a critical supporting role in ensuring successful execution of field operations on high-end retail upfit, commercial renovation, and multifamily value-add projects. Working under the direct guidance of the Superintendent, this position helps manage daily onsite activities, reinforces safety and quality expectations, and coordinates subcontractor performance.
This is a developmental field leadership role designed to support the Superintendent by executing delegated tasks, maintaining organized jobsite operations, and ensuring project teams have the information, resources, and oversight needed to keep work progressing efficiently. The Assistant Superintendent serves as an extension of the Superintendent—strengthening communication, improving workflow, and promoting a consistent standard of excellence on the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Field Support
Assist the Superintendent with daily planning, scheduling, and coordination of trades and field activities.
Support implementation of the project schedule by monitoring progress, identifying delays, and reporting issues promptly.
Oversee task-level execution as delegated, ensuring subcontractors understand scope, sequencing, and expectations.
Track and coordinate material deliveries, storage needs, and onsite logistics to maintain workflow efficiency.
Assist with preparing jobsite layouts, temporary protections, staging areas, and general site setup.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and third-party consultants to ensure timely completion and compliance.
Safety Enforcement & Site Compliance
Actively support the Superintendent in enforcing all company and OSHA safety standards.
Conduct daily safety walks, documentation of hazards, and follow-up on corrective actions.
Participate in weekly toolbox talks and safety meetings, reinforcing field safety culture.
Assist with incident documentation, reporting, and corrective measures when required.
Help monitor compliance with permits, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines.
Quality Control & Field Productivity
Monitor workmanship for compliance with company quality standards, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
Assist in resolving field conflicts by identifying issues early and escalating them to the Superintendent.
Support punch list development and execution by coordinating with subcontractors to complete corrective work.
Help identify opportunities for improved productivity, sequencing adjustments, or material optimization.
Documentation, Reporting & Administrative Support
Maintain accurate daily logs documenting manpower, weather, work activities, safety observations, and progress updates.
Assist the Superintendent in preparing weekly progress reports for the Project Manager.
Support tracking and documentation of RFIs, submittals, and field directives as assigned.
Help ensure the latest drawings, specifications, and project documents are maintained and accessible onsite.
Assist in monitoring change conditions, gathering field information, and communicating impacts to the project team.
