Overview

The Per Diem Hospitalist ensures the seamless delivery of care by managing patient panels and facilitating communication between the various branches of the clinical team. You will be responsible for clinical decision-making that aligns with Seattle Children's goals, vision, and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care Coordination: Provide direct medical care in assigned areas, ensuring a high level of coordination between patients, attending physicians, and family members.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, pediatric subspecialists, surgical teams, and ancillary health providers to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Community Partnership: Act as a primary point of contact for community physicians to ensure continuity of care upon admission and discharge.
  • Quality & Safety: Maintain rigorous patient care standards, incorporating quality improvement initiatives and patient-centered protocols into daily practice.

About Our Department

The Division of Hospital Medicine at Seattle Children's is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children with complex medical needs during their hospital stay.

Required Education and Experience

MD Degree.

Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children's, and assigned medical center(s).

Required Credentials

Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington or State within WAMI region.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (Olympia, Skagit, St. Anne's, Seattle Children's NICU locations).

Federal DEA Registration.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire (only if required for special privileges).

Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.

All medical and allied health professional staff members are provisional for the first year.

Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's.

Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies.

Experience in pediatric emergency medicine.

Compensation Range

$ $128.55 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
