Job Title: Kitchen Cook – Prep, Fryer for Sushi & BBQ Restaurant

Job Summary: We are urgently seeking a talented and experienced Kitchen Cook for our sushi & bbq restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

· Handle all aspects of kitchen prep, including chopping, marinating, portioning, and setting up the line for service.

· Cook and prepare dishes across all kitchen stations, including the robata grill, fryer, and hot/cold line.

· Ensure consistent execution and high standards of food quality, presentation, and flavor across the entire menu.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked fryer and robata grill station throughout service.

· Support the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen organization, proper food storage, and ingredient rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.

· Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.

· Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, especially during peak hours.

Assist the Head Chef and management team with the execution of seasonal specials and new menu items.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with specific skills in prep, robata grilling, and deep frying.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail across all menu items.
  • A passion for Japanese cuisine and high-quality ingredients.
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Food Handler's Certificate preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Working Conditions: This position requires standing for long periods and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Kitchen Cook must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant's peak service hours.

Pay Rate:

  • Pay is market competitive and dependent on the experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.25 per hour

Expected hours: 14 – 20 per week
